We decided to start up our anime devision. The first project we decided on was the Spice and Wolf season 2 OVA. We opted for this since it literally just came out on April 30th and no one has subbed it as of yet.
Ryon is the person who translated it, I (Near) am the one who subbed it and encoded it. Both of us have never subbed an anime before, so expect problems. Most notably are the 30 some odd spelling errors. For example, at one point the word “princess” is spelled “princes,” completely changing the context. I apologize for these problems as I didn’t spell check all of the lines of text that Ryon wrote out for me. This will not be the case in our future anime. I didn’t realize these problems until after I had waited two hours for the video to render out (thus why I am not fixing them).

I didn’t think it was too bad, but I don’t know enough Japanese to comment on the translation portion. I will say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen 6 lines of text all brought up at once taking up half the screen. lol Otherwise, it wasn’t bad at all for a first time. I’ve seen much much worse. Is there going to be a full fledged season 2? This is one of the favorite series. I’m glad you guys subbed this.
@drixnak – Yes, Ryon, our translator, didn’t realize that certain portions of his translations were a little too long. In fact the first thing he said when I sent him the file is that he will cut back in the future. Again, this is the first time either of us have subbed an anime. There are bound to be quarks. I’ll have to say though, I have seen worse. I have seen sub titles take up the entire video before (they made the text too big and VLC) decided to take up the entire screen to display it).
There will be a full season 2. We plane to hone our skills in preparation for that as well are going to sub it. We’re going to sub OVA’s until then. You’ll get to see how our quality enhances over time.
